Technology can be reliable, easy to learn, and a pleasure to use, but it doesn't just happen. In fact, it rarely happens. It requires careful planning. It also requires a very broad perspective. Who will use it? How will it be used? What must it do to interact successfully with the outside world? What changes can it expect to incur during its lifetime?
While other curriculums teach one how to convert logic to code that computers can execute, only an Engineering curriculum teaches one to create the logic that will achieve a goal or solve a problem.
Computers are not complicated. Software developers are!
